When one of your hobbies is now being realized by millions of people with a similar means of capture in their pockets, you know you have to run.
I have been into photography ever since 2010. No, not just due to the hype of phone photography, I think I was still on the Nokia 6600 or a Blackberry 8900 Javelin in the time. But, I just wanted to know how to compose and play with the camera. Alas, the Canon 1000 D became my toy.
Eight years has passed, and the lenses for that old camera are still with me to this day, even if I exchanged the body to the 7 D which has more power on the shutter for high-speed photography, and one of my favorite shutter release sounds out of a camera.
Honestly, losing this hobby has been hard on me. Two years abroad, got me to realize that capturing moments wasn't just a hobby though. It's actually a passion of mine. I never used to like, or know what to do in front of the camera. Taking the photograph, and leaving a bit of myself (my feet and thighs as the picture above shoes for example) is what I loved doing. For me to be the one to instigate a selfie, is too much. You will really have to convince me, or at least it has to be a moment I really want to capture.
Well, I have left my baby 7 D thousands of kilometers away, just because I have a new tiny toy for taking the family pics. But still, I wished a bit to have brought that beaut' with me.
My Instagram feed is going insane though, 800 plus posts, and I don't think I'm gonna stop anytime soon. Moving house to another account maybe, but @asahtar is my P-Log. It is the log of an amateur enthusiastic photographer, who became an architectural research assistant, turned multimedia artist and editor.
Thesis? Should be back on working on it in a couple of weeks time again. Don't stay tuned for that one.
